I'm really sick of the gun control topic. It seems like every time I turn on the TV, they're talking about gun control! Is anyone else as fed up with this as I am?! It's so obvious where everyone should stand!!
My view on gun control (or as I like to call it, "guntrol") is that I'm all for it; the only logical viewpoint, of course. I don't think average people should be allowed to have guns. Guns are for police, military, rebels, hunters, and street gangs. THEY ARE NOT TOYS. My neighborhood has a lot of gang violence, and we spend way too much time defending ourselves from street gangs. We don't have time to leisurely stroll down to the gun range and spend all day shooting! We spend most of our free time in our house, with our windows boarded up. When thieves burst through your door at 3 A.M., hold you at gunpoint, and steal everything you own, you can hardly afford a gun to "play with" at the shooting range every weekend. Not when you have to buy another refrigerator what seems like every damn month.
As I was saying, normal people shouldn't be trusted with guns. They might be tempted to go out and become criminals. We've got enough of those! Maybe even a few too many, once you think about it. Doesn't anyone else think we could do with a few less criminals? I think we should scale back gun crime by 10% or so. I know it's radical, but gun control should not just be for the working man.
There's another topic that I'm amazed guntrol advocates never want to bring up: controlling the number of guns that video game characters are able to carry. In Medal of Honor, you can carry 20 grenades, a bazooka, and an entire arsenal of pistols, rifles, and machine guns. Not only is that impossible for a good-looking, average-sized man, but in games like Max Payne, you can walk around in the street with tons of guns, without getting arrested: and the main character guy isn't even in the military! Even in the Grand Theft Auto series, they have "police", but they're only in the game. You can't actually get arrested.
I'm sure some damned criminal advocacy group is going to see this post and go berserk. Well, go ahead and go berserk. It won't bother me; I know where I stand.
